Philadelphia Winter Weather- Mon 9:30 PM Update
The GFS and NAM continue with a weak second low developing near southern NJ from an upper impulse interacting with cyclonic circulation of a main low far off the coast. .

Tonight's NAM is consistent with mostly likely 2, possibly 3 inches of snow total accumulating late morning Tuesday through early Tuesday evening.

Unless the GFS is significantly different (GFS data available about 10:40 PM), this is my last update this evening. Very cold weather follows for Wed and Thursday, but moderating temps return for the weekend.

Philadelphia Winter Weather- Mon PM Update.
The general consensus seems to be that the main low pressure system will be too far offshore to give us a major snowfall. The models are inconsistent from run to run with amounts and development of a second low.

The GFS and NAM continue with a weak second low developing near southern NJ from an upper impulse interacting with cyclonic circulation of the main low. Both models pump out about 2, possibly 3 inches of snow, mostly during the afternoon on Tuesday. Last night's NAM had some additional snow Tuesday evening.

This latest models from this AM continue to show 2-3 inches (GFS possibly 4) starting before daybreak and ending during the evening.

Very cold weather follows for Wed and Thursday, but moderating temps return for the weekend.
